Talmont sur Gironde
Classified one of the most beautiful villages in France, Talmont sur Gironde is built on a rocky promontory overlooking the Gironde estuary. Rich in architectural heritage, we can discover the Romanesque church Sainte-Radegonde, jewel of the Romanesque art saintongeais, which watches over the city since the twelfth century and which provides access to a superb panorama of the waves.
Through the cliff walkway, you will arrive at the port and its traditional fishing boats and its squat on stilts. In the closed city, small streets and houses with white facades and blue shutters are revealed behind the trèmières roses.
In the old school, the Museum tells the curious story of the site and the traditional fisheries in the estuary. Playful and educational, it allows to discover the environment and the activity of the fishermen. Many artisans, artists, painters, potters and stylists give life to these places full of history.
